Maker’s Mark ‘Remarkable Neighbourhood’ returns with the addition of two new UK cities
Maker's Mark, the premium handmade bourbon from Kentucky, is partnering with some of the UK's best bars in three cities this May - Edinburgh, Bristol, and Manchester - to celebrate year two of the Remarkable Neighbourhood initiative. The programme is a series of bar takeovers and collaborations that encourage exploration into the bourbon category whilst celebrating local communities and neighbourhoods.
Community events and takeovers will continue to feature in the programme this year. Highlights will include a guided Maker’s Mark tasting and food pairing event in Edinburgh Castle as well as a live music event at Harbour Hub in Bristol, and takeovers at HMSS in Bristol and Science and Industry in Manchester. The jam-packed series of activity will remain for the duration of May in each city, continuing to drive recruitment into the bourbon category through fun social occasions.
Bars and restaurants in each city will create their own twist on the Maker’s Mark ‘Gold Rush’ cocktail, composed of honey syrup, lemon, and Maker’s Mark bourbon. The brand’s signature serve has been chosen for bourbon lovers to enjoy and, as a delicious option for those who might not have tried bourbon before, for its smooth and well – balanced flavours.
Selected for their superior quality and sustainable practice, bars will use local honey to pour into their respective gold rush cocktails to enhance the bold flavours of Maker’s Mark bourbon. Partnerships with local, artisan, honey producers (The Finest Honey Company in Manchester, The Scottish Bee Company in Edinburgh, and The Classic Bristol Honey) will take place in each city, paying homage to Maker’s Mark recent B – Corp certification.
Participating hospitality outlets include:
Bristol - Clifton and City Centre Waterfront - Clockwork Rose, Dirty Bird
Edinburgh - Leith - Nauticus
Manchester - Ancoats and Northern Quarter - Common, Whiskey Jar
Sarah Isaac, Head of Beam Suntory brands in the UK, says:
"The Remarkable Neighbourhood programme has been fantastic in helping to drive recruitment for the bourbon category as many individuals try bourbon for the first time. This year, we are excited to continue this journey, bringing the programme to two new UK cities and introducing our Gold Rush serve to new consumers.”
Handcrafted in small batches, Maker’s Mark bourbon is created with precision and care to create a smooth yet full flavoured bourbon whiskey. Their production process includes rotating each barrel by hand and hand dipping each bottle at their distillery in Loretto, Kentucky to create the best-tasting Bourbon whiskey.
